Two men move to Gotham City: Bruce Wayne, who spent years abroad to feed his lifelong need for justice, and Jim Gordon, who was too honest as a cop with the wrong people elsewhere. After learning hard lessons about how corrupt the city's streets and police department are, this pair learns how to fight back in their own way. With that, Gotham's bad guys from top to bottom are scared of the mysterious Batman, and Gordon, who is also a hero, is sent to catch him by people who both hate and fear him. During the manhunt that follows, they find out they have a lot in common. This leads to an unexpected friendship, and other friends and rivals help start the legend.
