In the early 1960s, teenager Adam Stafford (Cameron Bright) becomes obsessed with his new neighbor, Catherine Caswell (Gretchen Mol), a divorced free spirit. Stafford watches Caswell as she meets with strange men, and despite the warnings of his conservative parents, he starts working as a gardener for her. Despite rumors that she was having an affair with President Kennedy, the two of them become close. However, political intrigue involving her friends soon gets in the way of their friendship.
