At the front, Anna and Otto Quangel's son was killed. This working-class couple had long believed in the Führer and willingly followed him, but now they realize his promises are nothing more than lies and deception. Stop the war machine! they write on postcards as a form of resistance and to raise awareness. Kill Hitler! They distribute these cards in the entrances of tenement buildings and stairwells, putting their lives in danger. However, the SS and the Gestapo are quickly on their tail, and even their neighbors pose a threat.
