Air Bud
A small boy and an extraordinary basketball-playing stray dog form an instant bond. 12-year-old Josh Framm relocates with his family to the small Washington town of Fernfield after his father's unintentional death. Josh, the town's newcomer, has no friends and is too shy to try out for the basketball team. Buddy is a stray golden retriever that he befriends while practicing alone on an abandoned tennis court. Josh is astonished when he discovers Buddy's passion for basketball and his skill as a player. Josh finally earns a spot on the school team, and Buddy is designated as the team mascot. Josh and Buddy become halftime's most notable figures. Buddy's halftime performance attracts media notice. Buddy and Norm Snively appear to be separated when Buddy's former owner, Norm Snively, devises a scheme to capitalize on the dog's fame.
