Even though Ryota won a literary award 15 years ago, he is not a very popular writer. Ryota now works as a private investigator. He is no longer married to his ex-wife Kyoko, and he has a son, Shingo, who is 11 years old. Yoshiko, his mom, lives alone in her apartment. One day, Ryota, his ex-wife Kyoko, and his son Shingo get together at Yoshiko's apartment. A typhoon comes and goes, and the family has to stay there all night.
