A professor in New York City (Justin Long) spends the week reuniting with his family while defending his image after scandalous behavior at his college. Meanwhile, his family is resolved to give their matriarch, Agatha (Lynn Cohen), round-the-clock care when she is admitted to New York's Presbyterian Hospital and is expected to die within a few days. Nobody is taking it well, and to make matters worse, each family member is dealing with their own troubles.
