Will Freeman is a young Londoner who discovers one day that all of his buddies have married and he is left out in the cold. He begins to meet a string of single mothers while pretending to be a single father, secure in his ability to leave them behind when they begin to ask for a commitment. Will's hopes of remaining a bachelor are dashed when he meets Marcus, a 12-year-old boy who is the polar opposite of him in many ways.
