To make things worse for himself, Michael McCann gets dumped by the woman who loves him. He turns into a misanthrope and an embezzler because he spends all of his extra money on rare gold coins. In the same town, there is a rich family with two sons named John and Tanny: There is no way to control Tanny, and one night, he breaks into McCann's house and takes the gold. McCann's distrust of people almost comes to an end after this. In the meantime, a mysterious young woman dies in the snow outside McCann's house, and McCann's little daughter makes her way to McCann's house and into McCann's heart and life. After adopting his daughter, Matilda, he names her. He grows her up and finds new joy in life with his adopted daughter. When Matilda was born, the secret of her birth could split them apart.
