Nerdy Walter Paisley (Dick Miller), a clumsy busboy at a beatnik café who doesn't fit in with the cool crowd, attempts to woo his beautiful coworker Carla (Barboura Morris) by creating a bust of her. When his carelessness kills his landlady's cat, he panics and hides its body beneath a layer of plaster. However, after Carla and her friends praise the resulting artwork, Walter decides to create some larger and more elaborate pieces using the same artistic process.
