Kim Won-kang, a former professional soccer player, visits East Timor after a string of failed business attempts. There, he discovers children playing soccer barefoot on rocky fields. Upon seeing that the country lacks a single sports goods store, he devises a plot to become wealthy quickly by selling athletic shoes to the country's unshod youth. Sadly, no one there can afford to pay $60 for a pair of shoes, not even on a generous installment plan, and before he knows it, he's coaching a team of ragged 10-year-olds, with bleak prospects.
