Peter Berg directed Wonderland, a controversial and short-lived 2000 ABC television drama. It presented daily life at a mental institution from both the physicians' and patients' views. During its 2000 run on ABC, only two episodes were broadcast. Beginning January 14, 2009, DirecTV's The 101 Network broadcasted all eight episodes. Many of the show's viewpoints on the mental health epidemic and its treatment were divisive. The series was included in TV Guide's 2013 list of 60 shows that were "Canceled Too Soon."
