It was produced by Ethan Spaulding and Michael Jelenic, and ThunderCats is an American/Japanese animated TV series. From Warner Brothers Animation and Studio 4°C, ThunderCats is a revival of the original 1980 television series of the same name, which merged aspects of western animation with Japanese anime to create a unique style. On July 29, 2011, Cartoon Network aired an hour-long debut of the series. They've been exiled to Third Earth after their country of Thundera was destroyed by the wicked sorcerer Mumm-Ra, who intends to take control of the entire universe. It's a considerably darker and more dramatic take on the original show's story, with a greater emphasis on character development and deeper themes. It was announced by ThunderCats art director Dan Norton in early 2013 that the show had been canceled after only one season, which was originally slated for 52 episodes. Adult Swim's Toonami block later broadcast reruns of the programme.
