The Originals

The Originals, a New Orleans-based spinoff of The Vampire Diaries, focuses on the Mikaelson siblings, often known as the world's original vampires: Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah. Klaus must now eliminate his protégé Marcel, who is currently in command of New Orleans, in order to reclaim his city, as he was the one who initially founded it. Klaus left the city after being pursued by his father Mikael, as it was being erected and Marcel assumed leadership. As Klaus has returned after a lengthy absence, his ego has prompted him to become the city's ruler. Klaus accepts the unborn child, stating, "Every King needs an heir." The child is the first hybrid to be born to a werewolf.
