Henry Drax is a harpooner and a brutal killer whose lack of morals has been shaped by the harshness of his world. He will go on a whaling trip to the Arctic with Patrick Sumner, a disgraced ex-army surgeon who signs up to be the ship's doctor. Sumner goes on a bad trip with a murderer because he wants to get away from the horrible things that happened in his past. In his search for forgiveness, his story turns into a hard fight to stay alive in the Arctic wasteland.
