A multi-camera comedy about a close-knit, sports-obsessed family living in Boston, whose rather athletically challenged son, Ronny, is chosen by his father to be his assistant high school basketball coach, much to the astonishment of his more competent siblings. The family lives in Boston. Ronny's first priority is to uproot his life, become involved in the local singles community, and find a life mate. Marjorie, his devastated mother, is not concerned that her favorite son is gay; rather, she is upset because her son wants to leave Boston and his family behind. Ronny's intentions are altered, however, when his politically incorrect and outspoken father, Arthur, stuns everyone with his pick for an assistant. Ronny's decision for an assistant was previously unknown. Ronny, who was moved by his father's offer, decides to pursue a completely different path in life, and he can be certain that his supportive family, which consists of his twin brothers Sean and Gerard as well as his sister Jackie, would have a very strong opinion on this decision.
