The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television show made by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. The series is about Timmy Turner, a 10-year-old boy who gets two fairy godparents named Cosmo and Wanda. The series started out as short cartoons that ran from September 4, 1998 to March 23, 2001 on Oh Yeah! Cartoons. It was later picked up as a series. The show is made by Frederator Studios and, since the sixth season, Billionfold, Inc. For the first four seasons, it was sold outside of the US by Nelvana International, a Canadian company. The Fairly OddParents has been on TV for more than 16 years, making it the longest-running fantasy show in American television history. It is also Nickelodeon's second-longest-running animated show (behind SpongeBob SquarePants).
