That Girl

That Girl is a 1966–1971 American sitcom that aired on ABC. It stars Marlo Thomas as Ann Marie, an ambitious actress who moves from her birthplace of Brewster, New York to try her luck in New York City. Ann needs to take a variety of odd "temp" jobs to sustain herself in between auditions and minor parts. Ted Bessell played her lover, Newsview Magazine writer Donald Hollinger, while Lew Parker and Rosemary DeCamp played her concerned parents, Lew Marie and Helen Marie. Ann and Donald's pals were played by Bernie Kopell, Ruth Buzzi, and Reva Rose. That Girl was created by Bill Persky and Sam Denoff, who had previously worked as head writers on The Dick Van Dyke Show in the 1960s.
