It debuted on television on February8,2003, and ran until February28, 2009 before being canceled. The series served as a Saturday morning animation on Fox's Fox Box programming block, marking the return of the franchise. Dong Woo Animation was in charge of the show's animation, and it was produced by 4Kids Entertainment and Mirage Studios, both of which held one-half of the rights to the TMNT television series that aired in 2003. In 2004, the Miguzi block on Cartoon Network aired repeats of previous episodes. The series was moved to The CW4Kids for its final season once the deal that 4Kids had with Fox came to an end. Nickelodeon now owns the rights to this Turtles series as well as any future iterations.
