Caitlin "Cat" Sullivan is a detective for the New York Police Department who works in Brooklyn. After having her license revoked, she is forced to rely on Leo Romba, a highly experienced taxi driver originally from France who now works in Brooklyn. Leo ends up working for Cat as a consultant and as her personal driver. Cat is working with Leo to solve crimes, but she is also conducting her own independent investigation into the death of her father, an NYPD detective whose death is believed to have been the result of an assassination attempt by the Capella criminal family. Because of this, she gets into a fight with her superior, Captain Baker, as well as her ex-husband Gregg, who is now working with the FBI and has taken over the investigation.
