Splash! is a reality show that follows celebrities as they learn to dive. Each week, the celebrities compete in an Olympic-size diving pool in front of a panel of judges and a live audience, with the outcome chosen in part by public vote. The show is hosted by Gabby Logan and Vernon Kay, with experienced mentor Tom Daley, a Team GB Olympic bronze medalist diver. It is shot in the Stopsley, Luton-based Inspire: Luton Sports Village. With an average audience of 5.6 million viewers and a network share of 23.6 percent, the show launched on ITV on Saturday, January5,2013, winning the ratings war for its 7.15pm-8.15pm slot. For the past five years, Splash has been ITV's most popular new entertainment programme. The show's formula was adapted from the Celebrity Splash! series produced by Dutch television production company Eyeworks and shown on SBS 6 as Sterren Springen Op Zaterdag. Splash, a US version from the Riverside Aquatics Complex at Riverside City College and the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in Pasadena, premiered on ABC television on March19, 2013. The 2012 Olympic 10 m diver David Boudia and American diving icon Greg Louganis serve as judges in the US version. Celebrity Splash! has been ordered by the Seven Network in Australia and will premiere in 2013.
