Spider-Man
Spider-Man is a Toei Company live-action TV series based on Marvel's Spider-Man character. From May17,1978, until March14,1979, Tokyo Channel 12 aired 41 episodes of the series on Wednesdays at 19:30 JST. On July 22, 1978, a theatrical episode was shown at Toei Manga Matsuri. From March 5 until December24,2009, Marvel posted subtitled versions of all 41 episodes and the movie. While Toei's version of the character wore the same suit as his Marvel counterpart, the show's backstory and origin of his powers differed. In addition to fighting alone, this Spider-Man operated a massive robot called Leopardon to fight bigger creatures. Toei used gigantic robots in later Super Sentai shows.
