Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju
When a certain man gets out of jail, he already knows where he's going first. After falling in love with the way a traditional comic storyteller told the story "Shinigami," he wants to learn from him. Yakumo, the performer, has never had an apprentice before, so everyone is shocked when he takes on the eager ex-convict and calls him "Yotaro." Yotaro is happy to start his new life, and as he does so, he meets people in Yakumo's life, like Yakumo's ward Konatsu. Konatsu's father was a famous storyteller, and when he died in a terrible accident, Yakumo took her in. Konatsu loved listening to her father tell stories, and she would love to be a performer herself, but women can't do that.
