Leonel Reina is a young boxer of Latino descent who has aspirations of winning championships. However, Leonel's hopes and plans are dashed when he is deported to Mexico and learns that he was never naturalized as an American citizen. This causes him to give up on his American dream. Leonel is taken aback when he finds himself suddenly reuniting with his family and meeting new friends in a foreign land where he is unable to communicate in the native tongue. These new friends are determined to assist Leonel in locating his way back to his homeland.
