Perfect Strangers
In the years between March 25, 1986 and August 6, 1993, the ABC television network broadcast eight seasons of the sitcom Perfect Strangers. The sitcom, created by Dale McRaven, follows Larry Appleton, a Midwesterner, and Balki Bartokomous, an Eastern Mediterranean European distant cousin. The short six-episode initial season aired on Tuesdays in the spring of 1986, before moving to prime time on Wednesdays in the fall of 1986. It was originally scheduled for Wednesdays, but was switched to Fridays in March 1988. Anchoring ABC's TGIF Friday-night line-up for much of its first run in 1992, the show found its home there.
