Outlaws is an NBC Western television series starring Barton MacLane as US Marshal Frank Caine, who worked in a lawless area of Oklahoma Territory near Stillwater. From September 29, 1960, to May 10, 1962, the show broadcast 50 one-hour episodes. The first season was shot in black and white, whereas the second was shot in color. Don Collier co-starred with MacLane as deputy marshal Will Foreman in the 1960–1961 season. MacLane left the show after the second season, and Collier was promoted to full marshal, with Bruce Yarnell joining the cast as deputy marshal Chalk Breeson. Jock Gaynor played deputy Heck Martin, Will Foreman's on-screen nephew, in the first season. Slim Pickens featured in the second season as "Slim." Judy Lewis also appears in the second season as Connie Masters, a Wells Fargo employee in Stillwater. The dog from Walt Disney's Old Yeller also appeared in The Outlaws. Vic Morrow, Cliff Robertson, Pippa Scott, and Harry Townes also featured on the show at least three times. John Anderson, Edgar Buchanan, Jackie Coogan, Bruce Gordon, Robert Harland, and Robert Lansing all appear. Robert Karnes, Brian Keith, Larry Pennell, Chris Robinson, William Shatner, Ray Walston, Jack Warden, and David Wayne all featured twice in the series.
