Out of the Box is a television show that airs on the Disney Channel. It is set in a playhouse that is entirely built of cardboard boxes, and it features two hosts named Tony James and Vivian McLaughlin Bayubay who create crafts, sing songs, and put on plays inside of the playhouse. Walt Disney Home Video has distributed two special episodes of Out of the Box on VHS. These episodes are titled Out of the Box: Trick or Treat and Out of the Box: Happy Holidays. Trick or Treat is also included on the Rolie Polie Olie: A Spookie Ookie Halloween DVD, which can be purchased separately. The television show, which was based on a series of books written by Douglas Love and published by HarperCollins, was created and is being executive produced by Love. Kaufman Astoria Studios in New York City played host to the production of all three seasons of the show. This show was nominated for an Emmy and won three Parents' Choice Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement in children's programming.
