One Foot in the Grave is a comedy show on BBC television. In the series, Victor Meldrew and his long-suffering wife, Margaret, do things. The shows always show Meldrew trying to solve the problems he makes for himself. Victor lives in a normal home in an unnamed English suburb. He is forced to retire early. The main themes of the sitcom are his different attempts to keep himself busy and the problems and misunderstandings he runs into along the way. Most of the show was filmed in Walkford, which is near New Milton in Hampshire. However, there are hints that the show may have been set in Hampshire, maybe in Winchester. Even though the show is made in a traditional way, the domestic sitcom setting is replaced by black humor and surrealism.
