Dan is a bumbling child trapped in an adult world on the verge of collapse. His girlfriend Naomi is quickly losing patience with his inability to do even the most basic tasks. His only highlight comes in the form of Miss Lipsey, a head mistress who looks at Dan with a mixture of pity and despair. He has two uniquely dysfunctional friends and a listless teaching career in which he begrudgingly teaches a version of the same lesson every day, inexplicably popular with all but one of the pupils. To make matters worse, he is harassed on a daily basis by his deranged father, whose sole purpose in life appears to be to humiliate his son at every turn.
