Camping by herself at the foot of Mount Fuji is Rin Shima's idea of the greatest way to spend her time off, in contrast to the belief that most teenage girls have that a luxurious trip with their families is the best way to spend their time off. She has always done everything by herself, from setting up her tent to collecting firewood, and she has no intention of ever putting her tiny world of solitude behind her. When the lost Nadeshiko Kagamihara is forced to take refuge in Rin's campground, what begins as one of Rin's typical camping sessions strangely ends up as a pleasant surprise get-together for two people. Nadeshiko's intentions get derailed when she ends up falling asleep on the route to her destination, which she had initially intended to avoid because she wanted to witness the breathtaking vista of Mount Fuji for herself. She is alone herself and has no other option, so she goes to the one other person who is around to ask for assistance. The two young women, in spite of their hurried attempts to become acquainted with one another, decide to spend the frigid night together, eating ramen and chatting as the bonfire keeps them warm. Even when Nadeshiko's sister eventually picked her up later that night, the two ladies continued to discuss in silence the prospect of going on another camping trip together.
