During the period of time known as the Warring States in ancient China (475-221 BCE), Shin and Hyou are orphans of battle living in the kingdom of Qin. They can't help but fantasize about making a name for themselves on the field of combat one day. On the other hand, Hyou is eventually brought to the palace by one of the ministers. After that, Shin meets Ei Sei, a young man who, in many ways, resembles Hyou. He is the ruler of Qin for the time being, but in the future he will be known as Emperor Shi Huangdi.
