How to Rock ran from February 4 to December 8 on Nickelodeon. Kacey Simon is played by Cymphonique Miller. The series is based on Meg Haston's 2011 book How to Rock Braces and Glasses. On May 23, 2011, the series was given the go light with a 20-episode production order, which was later raised to 26. Two of the ordered episodes were combined into a special episode, resulting in a total of 25 episodes being shown. Filming for the series began in August 2011. Alloy Entertainment has developed its first television sitcom. On December 10, 2011, the first promo aired alongside Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh. How to Rock won't return for a second season, showrunner David M. Israel revealed on August26, 2012.
