The narrative focuses on two characters from the same educational establishment: a young man named Lee Sin, who is well-known at his high school for his participation in the band known as "The Stupid," and a young lady named Lee Gyo Won, who is committed to the traditional music of Korea. The addiction to drugs that led to Lee Sin's mother, Song Ji Yeong, and her son's father splitting up a long time ago is what has brought Lee Sin's father, Lee Hyun Soo, to the brink of death. Lee Hyun Soo was a famous guitarist in his day, but he is now on his deathbed due to his addiction to drugs. Lee Dong-jin, the grandpa of the female protagonist, Lee Gyo Won, is one of the top three traditional musicians of his generation, and his greatest hope is that his granddaughter will become a traditional music prodigy. He has a strong aversion to contemporary music since, in his opinion, it is misleading to the tradition. Students at the high school are given the opportunity to demonstrate their talents in an event called "The 100th Year Anniversary." Will Lee Sin, like his father before him, be able to demonstrate his mastery of contemporary music? And can Lee Gyo Won be able to live up to the standards that her grandfather has set for her?
