For decades, a parallel universe of vicious animals from Indonesian mythology has coexisted with humans in the city's bustling streets and back alleyways. The true identity of these "Demit," who have taken on the appearance of humans, has been carefully disguised for decades by a powerful family of mortals. The Gift, a strange supernatural event, will bring this secret realm to the surface. As the Day of the Gift approaches, Sarah, a young street artist, finds herself unexpectedly at the eye of the storm. When the Demit learn who Sarah is and what she must do, humans and Demit are on a collision path that might forever disrupt the equilibrium of their two worlds.
