Fawlty Towers
Fawlty Towers is a BBC sitcom that aired in 1975 and 1979. 12 episodes were made. The show was written by John Cleese and Connie Booth, who both starred. The series is set in Fawlty Towers, a fictional hotel in Torquay on the English Riviera. The plots center on uptight, harsh, and put-upon hotel owner Basil Fawlty, his domineering wife Sybil, a normal chambermaid Polly, and inept Spanish waiter Manuel and their attempts to run the hotel amid hilarious events and oddball guests. In2000, industry insiders voted Fawlty Towers the best British TV series of all time.
