Science fiction anthology series Exposure debuted on the Sci-Fi Channel in 2000 and ran through 2002. As a result of the series, the channel was able to launch its own studio for short sci-fi films. The films included a wide variety of science fiction themes, hosted by actress Lisa Marie. The show was discontinued in the fall of 2002 after receiving dismal ratings. Original airings of the show were on Sundays at 10:00pm and the following Saturday at 2.00am, but this time was then altered to 11:00pm and still aired deep into the wee hours of Saturday morning, which is presumably why the show's ratings were so low at first. It also featured two special guests. "Best of Season One" and "Star Wars Short Films Showcase" would be hosted by Terry Farrell and Kevin Smith, respectively. AtomFilms' new science-fiction purchases, as well as all of AtomFilms' current science-fiction films, were given to the Sci-Fi Channel for Exposure in a deal reached with AtomFilms.
