Justin Tolchuk, a delicate, lanky 16-year-old from Medora, Wisconsin, is just trying to get through high school. Franny imagines an athletic, intelligent Nordic teen who will instantly confer coolness on her outsider son when she joins up for the school's international exchange student program. When the Tolchuk's exchange student comes, however, he is Raja Musharaff, a 16-year-old Pakistani Muslim. Raja, Justin, his family, and the entire community of Medora are in for an exciting year.
