1990
The series takes place in a dystopian future in which Britain is controlled by the Home Office's Department of Public Control (PCD), a tyrannically oppressive bureaucracy that tramples on the population's civil liberties. Edward Woodward plays Jim Kyle, a journalist for The Star, the last independent newspaper, who becomes a renegade and begins to battle the PCD surreptitiously. In turn, PCD officers attempt to offer evidence of Kyle's subversive activities.
