A little girl named Lalu is sold into marriage by her destitute father in 1880s China. After being rejected by her intended as a bride, Lalu winds up as property of a bar owner in a gold-mining town in Idaho, where she is renamed China Polly and is intended to be sold as entertainment for the residents. Lalu, who refuses to become a whore, eventually finds her own way in this weird land populated with white demons.
