More than a dozen of the children in a small mountain village in Canada are killed in a school bus accident, leaving the community devastated. A lawyer from a large city arrives to assist the survivors' and victims' families in preparing a class-action lawsuit, but his efforts appear to further divide the town's residents. Simultaneously, one adolescent accident victim must deal with the loss of innocence caused by a different type of trauma.
