The Story of Adele H.
While living in exile off the coast of England, Adèle Hugo, the daughter of renowned French writer Victor Hugo, falls in love with British soldier Albert Pinson. Despite his rejection of her feelings, she accompanies him to Nova Scotia and adopts the pseudonym Adèle Lewly. Albert continues to reject her, but she is fixated on winning him over. When Albert is assigned to the West Indies, Adèle pursues him once more, escalating her downward spiral.
