When Helen is 16 years old, she works as a domestic servant for Mrs. Warren, who is 80 years old and suffering from Alzheimer's disease (AD). Mrs. Warren's two adult sons, Albert (a professor) and the womanizing impudent Steven, also live in the Warren home with their respective families. A string of murders involving "women with infirmities" occurs in the neighborhood, and Mrs. Warren grows concerned regarding Helen's safety. She begs her doctor, Dr. Parry, to have Helen removed from her care for her own safety. As soon as another homicide takes place inside the Warren estate, it becomes clear that Helen is in danger.
