The Painter and the Thief
Despite the fact that the police are able to apprehend the burglar within only several days, two of artist Barbora Kysilkova's most valuable paintings are stolen from a gallery at Frogner in Oslo. However, the paintings themselves are nowhere to be found. The trial is attended by Barbora in the hopes of uncovering evidence, but instead she ends up asking the thief whether she can paint him a painting of himself. This will mark the beginning of an extremely strange friendship. Over the course of three years, the cinematic documentary chronicles the remarkable narrative of an artist who is on the hunt for her stolen paintings while at the same time transforming the thief into art.
