The Ninth Configuration
Col. Vincent Kane is a military doctor who is in charge of an army mental institution that is located in a remote castle on the outskirts of town. In Kane's large patient population are eccentrics such as Capt. Billy Cutshaw, a troubled astronaut who is experiencing existential crisis. However, despite the fact that Kane's mental state is questionable at best, he is able to engage Cutshaw in a series of intelligent debates about science and faith that have a profound impact on both men's lives.
