The Far Country
Jeff Webster sees the start of the Klondike gold rush in 1896 as a golden opportunity to make a fortune in beef...and woe betide anyone who stands in his way! He drives a herd of cattle from Wyoming to Seattle, then by ship to Skagway, then through the mountains to Dawson (after a delay caused by scheming town boss Gannon). There, he and his business partner Ben Tatum start their own gold mine. Two lovely women fall for misanthropic Jeff, but he believes in every man for himself, turning his back on growing lawlessness...until it finally catches up with him.
