After the war, a group of touring actors perform Shakespeare's King Lear in a small English theater. This was one of the most important shows they'd ever done. One hour before the curtain goes up on Lear, bombs are falling. The actor/manager named Sir isn't anywhere to be seen. Will Sir show up on time? Even if he does he might not be able to perform that night, but his dresser must keep the show going. It's a wickedly funny and heartfelt story about friendship and loyalty as Sir looks back on his life and tries to make peace with the people who work for him.
