Following the untimely death of his wife, David Reynolds decides to take his family on a therapeutic trip to her hometown in Columbia, where she was born. They get involved in a car accident on the way and seek refuge in a remote inn. While there, they come across Ana Maria, a mysterious young girl who has been imprisoned in a chamber with cryptic markings written on the walls. The family is shocked by Ana's abuse by her caretaker and releases her, only to discover that she has been possessed by an evil ghost from ages before. What's worse, the spirit can transfer from person to person, creating a lethal dynamic among the once-loving members of the household. In order to prevent the spirit from destroying him and his family, David must devise a permanent solution to imprison it.
