The Count of Monte-Cristo
Alexandre Dumas' classic tale has been adapted for the small screen. Edmond Dantes is wrongly charged and sentenced to spend the remainder of his life in the legendary island jail, Chateau d'If, by others who are jealous of his good fortune. His fellow prisoner, the Abbe Faria, who is widely believed to be insane, visits him while he is incarcerated. The Abbe informs Edmond about a priceless treasure he and only he have discovered on a small island. While Edmond is imprisoned, the elderly Abbe passes away. As the corpse, Edmond makes his escape. In order to retaliate against those who have mistreated him, Edmond must locate the treasure that the Abbe had warned him about.
