British India in 1880. Robert Case is an unfairly discharged half-caste lieutenant from the British Army. He joins the onslaught of insurgent Bengali tribesmen against the colonial enemies. They apprehend a foreign journalist, and Case recalls his experience of being falsely accused on fabricated accusations, instigated by his commanding officers' intolerance and racism. Case is brutally murdered by Colonel Drewe, his accuser, following a victorious British raid on the rebels. The journalist goes home determined to report on The Brigand of Kandahar's genuine story.
