Junie, a French adolescent, decides to attend a new high school after the untimely passing of her mother. Junie spends much of her time inside her own brain, but thanks to her attractiveness and her unflappable demeanor, she attracts the attention of every single male student in the school. Junie starts a relationship with Otto Cleves, who is kind and considerate, but she finds that she is deeply drawn to Nemours, who is young and teaches Italian.
