That Hamilton Woman
The British ambassador to the Court of Naples is Sir William Hamilton, a widower of advanced years. Emma, who is visiting her mother, would not be accepted by London society, but she gets along well with the Queen of Naples. Emma enjoys her position as Lady Hamilton, and her life is going well until Lord Nelson pays her a visit. Sir William initially allows his young wife to have her fling while pretending to be unaware of what is going on. However, in this film, the real-life lovers, whose first screen romance was in "Fire Over England" (1937), have an even stronger passion for each other.
